REPORTED SPEECH
Direct speech is what a paerson has said. Quotations are usually used.
Indirect speech is used to relay what a person has said in a different time.
ACTIVE SPEECH:Im going to celebrate Saint Valentine’s with my friends.” (Sergi)
INDIRECT SPEECH: Sergi said that he was going to celebrate Saint Valentine’s with his
friends.
CHANGES
As the person who is reporting what was said is not the same, we need to make some changes:
1. Pronouns (changes depending on the person speaking)
2. Tenses
