A set of exercises aimed at helping learners re-write sentences using synonyms while maintaining the original meaning. The exercises involve identifying the word in bold and using a minimum of two and a maximum of five words to replace it in the second sentence. Contractions are only allowed for negatives. Examples include jimmy's wish to live somewhere colder, kate's inability to eat much of the salty salad, and sam swimming less in autumn than normally.

96. In these exercises, you need to take the information in the first sentence and re-write it,
using the word between (brackets) so that the second sentence has exactly the same meaning.
You cannot change the word in bold in ANY way. You must use a minimum of TWO and a
maximum of FIVE words for each space. Contractions, which count as two words, should only
be used for negatives: e.g. don't / hadn't / wouldn't, etc.
