Carlota: Now, I understand why you’re always tired.
Milagros: Yes, but I think your life is less stressful than mine.
Carlota: My life? It’s stressful too, but in my free time I always spend time with
my child, and I sometimes go to the cinema. What do you do in your
free time?
Milagros: In my free time I watch TV, go shopping and spend time with my family

Carlota: Why?

Milagros: Because I always get up at 5:30 in the morning. Then I often prepare breakfast and lunch because I work all day.

Carlota: Wow! Your life is stressful. What time do you usually return home?

Milagros: I often return home at 7:00 in the evening. However, I sometimes return at 9:00. It depends.

Carlota: Now, I understand why you’re always tired.

Milagros: Yes, but I think your life is less stressful than mine.

GRAMMAR (1) ADVERBS OF FREQUENCY

RULES.

1. Use the adverbs of frequency in order to be more exact in the duration of the activity. Look at the examples. - I always study in the morning. - She often works in an office. So… What’s the difference about these examples? I work in the mornings. I always work in the mornings. You visit your grandparents. You often visit your grandparents. She eats vegetables. She sometimes eats vegetables. We play fronton on Sundays. We seldom play fronton on Sundays. They have dinner in a restaurant. They never have dinner in a restaurant. 2. Adverbs of frequency go between the personal pronoun and the verb. Look at the examples. - I always visit my family in Arequipa. - She sometimes plays volleyball. 3. When you use the verb TO BE the position of the adverbs of frequency is after the verb. Look at the examples. - You’re always in the class. - He’s never selfish.
