Subordinate d Clauses

  • Clause. Clause is a group of words with a verb
  • All sentences are clauses but not all clauses are complete sentences.
  • Sentences with one clause are called simple sentences: I run. The boy ate all his ice cream. 6A studies really, really, hard.
  • Some sentences have more than one clause.
  • My brother, who is younger than me, likes football.
  • The clause with the important idea of the sentence is called the MAIN CLUSE.
  • (^) the clause that depends on the main clause and/or adds information is called SUBORDINATED CLAUSE
