1. PRODUCTION (producción):
It has two meanings
The general process of making a lm or video, including casting, set
construction, costuming, rehearsals, and shooting. (Also the term

The middle stage of a production which is preceded by the pre-production
and followed by the post-production. That is, the work completed on set
(the shooting and every choice the director, the cinematographer and the
actors and actresses make)
Pre-production: from the rst ideas to the shooting (script, researching
storyboard, casting…).
Post-production: A process that typically include editing, special eects and
audio mixing.
2. MEDIA
(Medios de comunicación): It is the plural of medium. Media describe the various
kinds of mass communication, such as radio and television, newspapers, movies,
magazines, and the internet.
Media Production refers to the professional creation of such content.
3. AUDIOVISUAL
/oːdiəuˈviʒuəl/ (audiovisual): something that involves both sound and sight.
Audiovisual Media Production refers to the professional creation of content
with sound and images
4. DIRECTING
/dəˈrektɪŋ/ (dirección o realización): There is little agreement as to what exactly it
is.
The director creatively translates the written word or script into specic sounds
and images. He or she visualises the script by giving abstract concepts concrete
forms. The director establishes a point of view on the action that helps to
determine the selection of shots, camera placements and movements, and the
staging of the action.
The director is responsible for the dramatic structure, pace, and directional ow
of the sounds and visual images.
The director works with the talent and crew, staging and plotting action, rening
the master shooting script, supervising setups and rehearsals.
He/she gives commands and suggestions throughout the recording and editing.

5. GLOSSARY OF TERMS

Frame /freɪm/ ( cuadro y encuadre ): It has two different meanings.

• It refers to each individual image (25 frames per second) ( cuadros por

segundo ).

• It also describes the borders of the image on screen, the edge of the image

(encuadre).

Take /teɪk/ ( toma ): The length between each start and stop of the camera.The same piece of action may be recorded from the same camera setup several times, each time is called “take” (take 1, take 2…).

Shot /ʃot/(p lano ): a piece of the film/video between two edits. Shots are described by distance from the subject, by camera angle, by content, and by camera movement.

Sequence /ˈsiːkwəns/( secuencia ): Any section that is self-contained enough to be intelligible when viewed apart from the rest of the film. Unlike a scene, it can consist of action occurring in various places and at different times.
