Do Appearance matter?
We want to believe looks do not matter it´s what´s on the inside that counts, but we
constantly judge people from their appearance, from the way they dressed, the things
they like, and how they present themselves in society.
My thought on the matter is that appearances should not matter. Unfortunately, it is not
how it works. An example is that looks can be problematic in employment since
companies prefer to hire good-looking people because they seem more trustable. Having
a great image assures success in different areas. However, looks can be deceiving.
Appearance is an indication of self-respect. How a person looks says a lot about who
they are and how they feel about themselves.
Besides, looks are quite important when it comes to romantic attraction. I believe
presence speaks to us. Attractiveness is indeed influenced by the body types society
establishes, but we can´t ignore the fact that beauty is very subjective and superficial.
To sum up, we live in a society where appearances do matter in the relationship and
labor sphere, and because society always judges people from the way they look.
