AG2 Writing 1: Procrastination
There have been certain times when I didn’t do things that needed to be done. One is
the time when I had to finish an editing job in record time. I was asked to edit an
advertising video for my friend’s business, and I knew I need to organize my time, but
since I was overconfident, I thought it would be really easy to complete the editing on
time. I told myself “I’ll start editing the last few days before the deadline, so I’ll have
more ideas by then”. However, what I didn’t expect was that at the last minute, they
sent me more material to include in the video. I had planned to finish the editing quickly
because they had given me a small amount of material, but in the end, my client wasn’t
responsible enough to send me the correct amount of material in the first place. I had
to make a lot of changes. Finally, I managed to finish 7 minutes before the deadline. I
was expecting to be fired, but fortunately, since I did a good job, my friend didn’t say
anything negative. I realized it was wrong for me to get overconfident. Now that I know
the consequences of procrastination I won’t let it happen again. To finish a task before
the due date is essential in the audiovisual world. I look forward to keeping that in mind.
