ITALY

From 1861 to 1946

Italy was a constitutional

monarchy, based on the

Albertine statute. The

Savoy were the rulers.

Since 1946 Italy has been a

democratic republic, based

on the Italian constitution.

UK

The United Kingdom (UK)

has always been organized

as a monarchy.

Before 1689 it was an

absolute monarchy.

After the signing of the Bill

of rights by Guglielmo

d'Orange in 1689, it

became a constitutional

monarchy.

USA

The United States of

America became an

indipendent country on July

4th, 1776 thanks to the

Declaration of

Indipendence.

From 1776 to 1789 the

United States were a

confederation.

Nowadays, the USA is a

federal union of 50 states

and some other small areas.
