William Shakespeare “Nothing can came of nothing” is one of the Shakespeare’s most meaningful quotes and it talks about all of us: old and young, men and women, riches and poors. This kind of quotes underline how eternal is the literature and every forms of art; William Shakespeare is regarded as the greatest writer in the English language and the world’s pre-eminent dramatist. For centuries the works of Shakespeare have made lovers fight for their love and people think about their inner selves. In my opinion the most meaning tragedy is Hamlet , this work talks about the tormented personality of Hamlet, who lost his dad and the girl he loved too. Hamlet was the Prince of Denmark and before being killed, his dad was the King; the play starts when Horatio saw the dead king’s ghost that didn’t talked to no one apart his son Hamlet. When Hamlet met the ghost, he discovered that the actual king, Claudius (uncle of Hamlet) aspiring to the throne, had poisoned his brother while he was sleeping; for this reason the ghost asked for revenge for his murder to Hamlet. Doubting about his mental health, Hamlet decided to prove his uncle with a theatrical work that portrayed the murder of the king; when in the scene the king was poisoned, Claudius left the room, nailing himself. After Hamlet’s argument with his mother, he killed Polonius who was hiding behind a curtain to overhear the conversation. At this point Ophelia (suffering for her dad’s death and for the refusal of Hamlet) decided to kill herself; the other one son of Polonius, Laertes decided to fight with Hamlet in a duel. At the end of the tragedy the king and the queen died drinking the poisoned wine that Claudius had prepared for Hamlet and Laertes died wounded by the poisoned sword. Hamlet, wounded too, before dying, asked to Horatio to tell his story. I think that Hamlet is the representation of the modern man, afflicted by his doubts and sometimes
destined to fight alone, by himself. In the course of the years have been made lots of films inspired to Hamlet tragedy, always following the principal track. Finally, I can say that William Shakespeare is the Eternal poet that will always lives with us.
