Sometimes companies focus more profit rather than their employee’s development and advancement.” Career development services and supports that your company offers “My company provides career development services such as trainings and seminars for its employees. They also encourage employees to strive to become better by giving awards such as employee of the month and such.” The most important issue related to career development “I believe it’s the lack of services and support from the company. Sometimes companies focus more profit rather than their employee’s development and advancement.” Incorporating the perspectives of policy, practice, and employer stakeholders, what are the most important elements (2-5) of career development services and supports that need to be addressed in your organization? • Other than what I have cited above, I am honoured to be able to be part of an organization that in my opinion is almost perfect. The greenbrier hotel have been up and running for centuries and I think the organization has studied, remained always ready for changes with the needs of not only its clients but also its workers. They have consistently provided everything for their employees, especially making sure employees remain motivated, skilled and most of all happy in the workplace. There should be a self-actualization and assessment. It is a process in which we learn and acquire new skills. It is a program that can help an individual grow and explore.” Lifelong learning challenges “I belong in the business field, and the most challenging part is knowing the consumer’s psychology. What do they really want from a certain product. They have different perspectives, so it’s quite challenging to determine these kinds of matter.” Workforce challenges in your organization “The main challenge for my company is the diversity of my people’s personality. It is a waste of money, time and effort. If the employee has no interest in further enhancing his/her skills then there will be no room for development.” Lifelong learning challenges “Keeping the employee’s will to work and maintain their enthusiasm in the workplace. We could respond in having leisure days for them and also have counselling sessions with employees.” Workforce challenges in your organization to which career development services and supports could respond “In my line of work, I need the whole school to cooperate with me and my team, to ensure that what we market is really observed in the school. It is sometimes difficult to reach out to other offices asking for help because some are not willing to go an extra mile. What we usually do is call for a meeting and discuss the things that all employees should know and understand.”
