METHODOLOGY
3.1 Introduction
This chapter deals with the methods and techniques used for the conduct of
this research. The chapter described research design, population of the study, sample
and sampling procedure, instrument for data collection, validity of research
instrument, reliability of research instrument, procedure for data collection, method of
data collection.
3.2 Research Design
A cross-sectional survey design will be used. survey is concerned with the
collection of data for the purpose of describing and interpreting existing condition,
prevailing practice, believes, attitudes and procedures (Pelemo, 2008). Therefore

The sampling procedure to be use is multi stage sampling

techniques stage I which is random sampling to select health facilities in the selected wards. 3.5 Instrument for Data Collection Research developed questionnaire will be use as instrument for data collection. It consist of closed-ended questions which was in three sections, section โ€œAโ€ comprises of demographic data contain seven โ€˜6โ€™ items and section โ€œBโ€ comprises of questions design to elicit useful information on knowledge of contraceptives which contain six โ€˜10โ€™ items, while section โ€œCโ€ contain questions on utilization of contraceptives, contains โ€˜11โ€™ items. Generally all the items on the instruments are 26 items. 3.6 Validity of Research Instrument The instrument will be submitted to the project supervisor for validation, suggestion, correction and approval. Based on his comments and observation the final drafts of the instrument are to be produce which will be given to the respondents to answer. 3.7 Reliability of Research Instrument The reliability of the research instrument will be determine using test-re-test method to determine the accuracy of the instrument and to ensure that it is consistency when used consecutively for two or more times. 3.8 Procedure for Data Collection and Analysis The questionnaire will be distributed to the women of child bearing age in the clinic
