QUARTER 4 – WEEK 4
1. IMAGES
Images may be two-dimensional, such as a photograph or screen display, or three-dimensional, such as a statue or hologram. They may be captured by optical devices – such as cameras, mirrors, lenses, telescopes, microscopes, etc. and natural objects and phenomena, such as the human eye or water. The word 'image' is also used in the broader sense of any two- dimensional figure such as a map, a graph, a pie chart, a painting or a banner. In this wider sense, images can also be rendered manually, such as by drawing, the art of painting, carving, rendered automatically by printing or computer graphics technology, or developed by a combination of methods, especially in a pseudo- photograph.
2. VIDEOS
Videos are very engaging content. Internet users prefer to watch videos because they want to see what a product can do for them in real life. In simple words, they want to see real-life demonstration of products before making their buying decisions. You can use your smartphone to make a simple behind the scene video of how your products are made and then dole it out to your followers. Or you can let your happy customers share their experiences in the form of videos with your followers. The importance of video as a visual media can further be corroborated by the fact that 78 percent of Internet users watch videos every week, and 55 percent people watch videos every day. Major platforms like YouTube have helped videos become a huge success, and not to forget that almost all social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram etc.) allow videos.
A. EDUCATIONAL VIDEOS Educational videos are excellent examples of teaching and learning concepts. As video uses the primary senses of sight and sound, using video in education allows concepts to be taught more easily and be retained better than reading off a page! This is thanks to the models of ‘multi-modal learning’ and ‘dual-coding theory’, which have shown that communicating with visuals and sound simultaneously will greatly increase comprehension and retention of new ideas.

C. INFORMATIONAL VIDEO Journalism is a good example of purely informational video. News and information videos give you the sounds and sights of the news events as if you were right there on location. No need to imagine what might be going on… You can see it and hear it for yourself. With all smartphones having a HD or 4K camera with video capabilities, news gathering is now in the hands of common people. Instead of a Television station with a producer and camera operator and interviewer, a single person can record and upload or stream live-video from most anywhere, anytime.
