Even though there are many goals of scientific development, I think that enhancing the quality of the
life for humans should be the primary goal. Because improving the living standarts and preventing
deaths is a driving factior itself and makes people suffer less.
Firstly, improving the life quality of many people is mostly the thing that carried the level of human
knowledge to where it is these days. This will be the same for the future aswell. Because, the idea of
a daily problem being solved is a huge encouragement for the people, expecially if that problem has a
lot of negative results. For instance, before the use of electricity for a light source is invented, some
people couldn't work at night and the light sources, like gas lamps or torches, were either dangerous
or expensive. Therefore, the invention of light bulbs has solved this problem by making affordable and
relatively reliable light sources avaliable for the society.
Secondly, achieving better the standarts include the prevention of diseases and, to some extent, the
deaths of many people. This is the undisputed main goal of medicine. Because by finding better drugs
and cure method doctors can efficiently and successfuly treat their patients, lessening the sufferings
and the number of deaths. For example, by the finding of penicilin, a type of antibiotic, various
bacterial infections became treatable. This gave numerous individuals' lives back to them.
In conclusion, while there could be many reasons for scientific developments, I think that the primary
aim of all scientific studies should be to enchance our lives and try to not allow any preventable
deaths to happen.

Detailed Assessment

Improve Each Paragraph

OPENING STATEMENT.

"Even though there are many goals of scientific development, I think that enhancing the quality of the life for humans should be the primary goal. Because improving the living standarts and preventing deaths is a driving factior itself and makes people suffer less."

Comments.

Task Response/Task Achievement: The opinion is clear, but the reasoning is a bit simplistic. Saying that improving living standards is a "driving factor itself" is not very convincing. You need to elaborate on why it's the primary goal. ● Coherence & Cohesion: The connection between the first and second sentences could be smoother. The "because" feels a bit abrupt. ● Grammatical Range & Accuracy: "Standarts" is misspelled. "Factior" is misspelled. ● Lexical Resource: "Enhancing the quality of life" is fine, but you could use more sophisticated vocabulary.

How to rewrite.

"While scientific development has multiple aims, I believe that improving the quality of human life should be its paramount goal. This is because enhancing living standards and preventing mortality alleviate suffering and contribute directly to human well-being."

BODY PARAGRAPH 1.

"Firstly, improving the life quality of many people is mostly the thing that carried the level of human knowledge to where it is these days. This will be the same for the future aswell. Because, the idea of a daily problem being solved is a huge encouragement for the people, expecially if that problem has a lot of negative results. For instance, before the use of electricity for a light source is invented, some people couldn't work at night and the light sources, like gas lamps or torches, were either dangerous or expensive. Therefore, the invention of light bulbs has solved this problem by making affordable and relatively reliable light sources avaliable for the society."

Comments.

Task Response/Task Achievement: The example of light bulbs is relevant, but you could expand on how this improvement encouraged further scientific development. The link between the general statement and the specific example could be stronger. ● Coherence & Cohesion: The paragraph is a bit rambling. The repetition of "the idea of a daily problem being solved" is clunky. ● Grammatical Range & Accuracy: "Aswell" is misspelled and should be two words. "Expecially" is misspelled. "Avaliable" is misspelled.

Lexical Resource: The vocabulary is quite basic. Consider using synonyms for "improving," "encouragement," and "problem."

How to rewrite.

"Firstly, advancements that improve the quality of life have historically driven the expansion of human knowledge, and this trend is likely to continue. The prospect of solving everyday problems provides considerable impetus for innovation, particularly when those problems have far-reaching negative consequences. For instance, prior to the invention of electric lighting, many people were unable to work after dark, and alternative light sources like gas lamps and torches were either hazardous or costly. The invention of the light bulb addressed this issue by providing an affordable and relatively dependable source of light for the population, thereby also creating opportunities for further advancements." BODY PARAGRAPH 2. "Secondly, achieving better the standarts include the prevention of diseases and, to some extent, the deaths of many people. This is the undisputed main goal of medicine. Because by finding better drugs and cure method doctors can efficiently and successfuly treat their patients, lessening the sufferings and the number of deaths. For example, by the finding of penicilin, a type of antibiotic, various bacterial infections became treatable. This gave numerous individuals' lives back to them."

Comments.

Task Response/Task Achievement: The example of penicillin is good, but again, you could elaborate on the impact. How did penicillin revolutionize medicine? ● Coherence & Cohesion: The paragraph flows reasonably well, but the "because" in the third sentence is a bit repetitive. ● Grammatical Range & Accuracy: "Standarts" is misspelled. "Cure method" isn't quite right. "Successfuly" is misspelled. "Finding of penicilin" is awkward. ● Lexical Resource: Consider using synonyms for "prevention," "better," and "lessening."

How to rewrite.

"Secondly, raising living standards includes preventing disease and, to a certain extent, reducing mortality. This is undeniably the primary objective of medicine. By developing improved drugs and treatments, doctors can more effectively treat their patients, alleviating suffering and decreasing the number of deaths. For example, the discovery of penicillin, a type of antibiotic, rendered numerous bacterial infections treatable, effectively saving countless lives." CONCLUSION. "In conclusion, while there could be many reasons for scientific developments, I think that the primary aim of all scientific studies should be to enchance our lives and try to not allow any preventable deaths to happen."

Comments.

Task Response/Task Achievement: The conclusion is a bit repetitive. It doesn't really add anything new. ● Coherence & Cohesion: The phrase "try to not allow" is awkward. ● Grammatical Range & Accuracy: "Enhance" is misspelled.

underscores the importance of grounding research in a framework of ethical principles. Medical research, for example, is inherently focused on alleviating suffering and prolonging life. The development of vaccines, antibiotics, and advanced surgical techniques has dramatically improved global health outcomes. The ethical imperative to address disease and improve healthcare systems serves as a powerful justification for prioritizing human well-being in scientific research. This ethical dimension is crucial for maintaining public trust in science and ensuring that scientific advancements are used for the betterment of society. In conclusion, while acknowledging the diverse motivations behind scientific inquiry, I contend that the primary objective of science should be to enhance the quality of human life. This prioritization not only aligns with fundamental ethical principles but also serves as a potent catalyst for scientific innovation and societal progress. By focusing on alleviating suffering, promoting well-being, and addressing global challenges, science can fulfil its potential as a transformative force for good in the world.
