Annotation
The Author, Dennis O. Dominque examine the online gaming, limitations of the study were that
the analysis in the online world and many interactions, online gaming is part of the interactive
experience. This study conducted to asses and find out the impact of online gaming on the
academic performance and social behaviour of the students in the Polytechnic University in the
Philippines Laboratory High School. Online gaming is one of the widely use leisure activities by
many people. The purpose of this study was to find how online games affect the student’s
intellectual capacity in relation to their academic performance and social behaviour. The
participants in this study were High School Students in Polytechnic University.

Fig. 1 presents the conceptual framework of the study. It consists of two vendees, online gaming as an Independent

Variable and Academic Performance and Social Behaviour as the dependent variables.

In figure 1, Online Gaming as an independent variable pertains to today’s latest technology. People can easy to

access this online world because of the modern gadgets invented by the new generation. Online gaming is an

addictive hobby that can affect the performance of students in school. Online Gaming pertains to any type of game

that someone can play through the internet or over a computer network.

Another variable, Academic Performance and Social Behaviour refers to two specific types of behaviour that can be

linked to academic achievement: prosaically behaviour and peer problems. These two behaviours have been linked

to various academic skills such as study habits, classroom behaviour, and peer interactions, which in turn affect

academic performance.

10.1 Results and Discussions The attainment of the objectives of the study was made possible through the

utilization of the descriptive method of Reseach.The sampling techniques were made through a purposive sampling ,were only those students who played online games were the only respondents selected to meet the population size of the study. With a total 126 respondents coming PUP-LHS, all of them returned the survey questionnaire, the main instrument of data gathering.

10.2 Conclusion 1. The academic performance of the respondents is not affected even if they play

online games. This can be interpreted as the trade- off when playing computer games.

  1. There grades are still good enough even if they spent time for playing. To sum up with the results, the respondents have a good academic performance despite their involvement in playing online games.

10.3 Recommendation 1. As the respondents assessed, it can be inferred that playing On-Line Games

results in a positive effect in the social behaviour of the respondents.
