Do you see what I see?
The steps for viewing a specimen…
1. Plug in the scope, turn on.
2. Stage lowest position using the coarse adjustment.
3. ***With each NEW slide, ALWAYS start with the lowest objective (red
= 5X)***
4. Place the slide on the stage. Clip in place.
5. Raise the stage to the highest position using the coarse adjustment.
LEAVE THE STAGE IN THE HIGHEST POSITION!
6. Look through the eyepiece (eyepiece = 10X). Use the diaphragm to
adjust the amount of light through the specimen.
7. Use the fine focus to focus.
8. Without moving the stage , switch to the middle objective (yellow =
10X).
9. Fine focus.
10. Without moving the stage , switch to the high objective (Blue

When done with a slide, lower the stage to the lowest position using the coarse
adjustment, remove the slide, place a new slide on the stage, clip in, low
objective (red), move the stage to the highest position, fine focus.
ALWAYS START A NEW SLIDE WITH THE STAGE IN THE LOWEST
POSITION AND THE LOWEST OBJECTIVE (RED)
