Discuss the above statement outlining transaction transparency (remote request, remote transaction, distributed transaction, and distributed request).

(b) Most commercial database management systems support the two-phase commit (2PC) protocol. Outline this protocol and discuss its implications for transaction processing in a distributed environment. (8 Marks)
