WHO: for people
WHOM: for object (people)
WHICH: for things
THAT: people & things (only in drc)
WHOSE: possesion
DEFINING RELATIVE CLAUSE:  tell which noun we’re talking about
1. The relative pronoun is the subject:
“she has a son who/that is a doctor”. // “She bought a house which/that is 200 years old”.
WE CAN’T OMIT THE RELATIVE PRONOUN
2. The ralative pronoun is the object:
“She loves the chocolate (which/that) I bought”. // “The police arrested a man (who/that) Jill worked
with”
WE CAN OMIT THE RELATIVE PRONOUN
NON-DEFINING RELATIVE CLAUSE: give us extra information
We DON’T use that
We use which things // who people
We use COMAS
We CAN’T omit the relative pronoun even if the relative pronoun is the subject of the clause
“My boss, who is very nice, lives in London”
