What needs to be done: Continuing to exceed the use of the means offered by the Earth is not a viable option in the long term. The question is how to change the models of consumption and production quickly enough to keep pace with economic growth, which can not be achieved simply by technological changes. It is unlikely that companies voluntarily adopt costly initiatives to take care of the environment. It is necessary for more people to abandon the idea that consuming more is synonymous with progress or success. With a fairer and more equitable use of resources, social conflicts will also be reduced. El problema del hiperconsumo: Hablar y evaluar sobre los problemas en los países desarrollados sobre las fábricas y el consumo en los productos que son dañinos para nuestro organismo.

Responsible consumption is a concept that defends that human beings must change their consumption habits by adjusting them to their real needs and those of the planet, choosing options that favor the environment and social equality. We live in a society that favors consumerism, we have become accustomed to using and throwing away. Advertising bombards us with ads whose goal is to make us gears of a system that reduces people to the role of submissive consumers.
The consumer and responsible user is one who, in addition to knowing their rights, is guided by social and environmental criteria in order to contribute to a favorable environment for all, and ensure consumption with the least possible impact of the environment, with the object of contributing to improve the quality of life of the people that inhabit this planet and of future generations. The problem of hyperconsumption To speak of responsible consumption is to raise the problem of the overconsumption of the "developed" societies and the powerful groups of any society, which continues to grow as if the capabilities of the Earth were infinite (Daly, 1997, Brown and Mitchell, 1998, Folch, 1998). García, 1999). Suffice it to say that the 20 richest countries in the world have consumed more nature in this century, that is, more raw materials and non-renewable energy resources than all of humanity throughout its history and prehistory (Vilches and Gil, 2003). As noted at the Earth Summit II, Johannesburg 2002: "15% of the world's population living in high- income countries is responsible for 56% of the world's total consumption, while the poorest 40%, in low-income countries, is responsible for only 11% of consumption. " And while the consumption of the "North" continues to grow, "the average African household consumption - it is added in the same report - is 20% lower than 25 years ago" (http://www.un.org/spanish/ / wssd / models_ni.htm)
