HANDWRITING VS TYPING NOTES
This is an awesome topic.
University students must not be allowed to use typing note-taking.
Introduction:
Taking effective notes is essential to becoming a top student, so let us
start by considering the facts…
FOR:
To begin with reasons to not use typing notes:
-Internet and social media distractions. – One of the big problems with
using technology in the classroom is that you are prone to distractions
from the internet and social media. That’s a good point, But you can
use apps to block these distractions, or you can go into airplane
mode. It is not something impossible that you can deal with, Typing
notes is more effective in spite of your reason not to do it.
-Typing and coping verbatim. - The other big problem is many
students fall into the trap of just typing out what the professor is
saying verbatim, rather than paying attention to the content,
processing the information, and summarizing it into more concise
notes. I hate to disagree with you, but…this time you're not absolutely
right. There are many people and according to some surveys
published on the Internet which say that people learn more in this
way because they have all the information and do not lose it as
happens with handwriting. –
Reason to use pen/paper (Handwriting):
-Can help with better retention and recall ability. – According to
British Broadcasting Corporation, You must listen, understand and
transcribe concepts, all at the same time. You’re encoding messages
for yourselves onto paper.
-Also lets you be more creative with the organization. - You can make
quick sketches or diagrams, draw arrows to connect ideas and write
comments in the margins. You have full control over the layout.
QUESTION:
But what about the low retention of information? Because it's
important if you are a university student that you have these abilities.
Don’t you agree? What’s your view in the matter?

AGAINST:

To begin with reason to not use pen/paper: -Slower Speed: Handwriting is generally slower than typing, which can make it difficult to keep up with a fast-paced lecture or presentation. I’d like to point out that…According to a National institute of health, It is easy to miss information when you are writing notes by hand. Your hand simply cannot keep up with everything that is being said and so you may need a more efficient method of note-taking to get the most out of your class or meeting,. Also, Keeping all your notes together can also be another disadvantage of handwriting, whereas on a computer everything can be kept in one digital folder.

If you are in a class at university, it is obviously that you have to save time and this is what TYPING NOTES does, it saves you time and you can write more words in a minute. However, HANDWRITING is more complex and sometimes people do not understand what they wrote when after a few days they want to review their notes. Don't you agree? What’s your view in the matter? Has it never happened to you? That’s a good point I think you misunderstood what I said… I’m not saying that. What I am saying is…
