ORIGINAL ARTICLE

  4. CRITICAL PRESENTATION OF THE INTRODUCTION 6
  1. Use complete words (do not use abbreviations, no acronyms).

X

  1. Use an affirmative tone.

X

  1. It is grammatically correct (it is not a match).

2. CRITICAL PRESENTATION OF THE AUTHORS AND AFFILIATIONS

a) b) PUNCTUATION: a) The article "Diagnosis of acute lymphoblastic leukemia", written by María José Mancero Rodríguez; Karolina De la Paz Arellano Salinas, Kristopher Alexander Santo Cepeda and Marco Esteban Rodríguez Revelo, aims to review and compile information regarding the diagnosis of ALL. The journal Guide for Authors states: “The name of the author or authors must be specified: paternal name and surname”. Acknowledgment of authorship must be based on: 1) Significant contributions to the conception or design of the manuscript, or to the collection, analysis, or interpretation of data; 2) Major critical writing or revision of the content of the manuscript; 3)

Final approval of the version to be published, and 4) Assumption of responsibility for all aspects of the manuscript, to ensure that issues relating to the accuracy or completeness of any part thereof will be adequately investigated and resolved. Contributors who do not meet the authorship criteria should appear in the Acknowledgments section. This article cannot be considered a multidisciplinary article because all the authors work in different areas of the same field (medicine), so it does not comply with being multidisciplinary. COMMENT: I believe that the authors of the article cited the research papers adequately as it gives us to know the percentages of ALL diagnostic methods that are more coincident among the majority of people with treatments referred to in this research. b) PUNCTUATION: 8 GUIDELINES FOR EVALUATING AUTHORS

PUNCTUATION

YES DOUBTFUL NO

  1. Authorship is adequate in number. The relationship complexity of the article/number of authors is consistent.

X

  1. If it is a multidisciplinary article, the team researcher is made up of specialists from various areas of knowledge whose contribution to investigated topic is of crucial importance.

X

  1. The authorship is justified and responsible. The criteria of authorship seem to be correct.

X

  1. The lead authors have extensive experience in the research topic.

X

  1. Absence of redundancy of the published article. X

2) It is clear, easy to understand. X

  1. Clearly describe: ● The objective/hypothesis in the first paragraph. ● The design/methodology in the second paragraph. ● The main results in the third paragraph. ● The conclusions in the fourth paragraph.

X

4) It is concise (250 words). X

  1. Presents results with numerical values (rates, percentages, proportions).

X

  1. Use complete words (do not use abbreviations, or acronym).

X

7) It is self-sufficient, self-explanatory. X

4. CRITICAL PRESENTATION OF THE INTRODUCTION

a) The introduction contains a good theoretical framework, since the concepts and background necessary to understand the article are explained in a simple way. In addition, it is correctly written in the present tense and has enough logic. The objective is precise and measurable, but it is described in a very general way. Likewise, the research problem is not specified and the main study variables are not shown. On the other hand, the bibliographic references are pertinent to the topic discussed in the article, however, there are some that are not updated. Finally, the introduction according to the Gunning fog index is 21.6, that is to say that the text is in a high range of comprehension for the reader.

PUNCTUATION: 60

GUIDELINES FOR EVALUATING THE INTRODUCTION

PUNCTUATION

YES DOUBTFUL^ NO

  1. Clearly presents the what and why of the research. X
  2. Capture the reader's attention from the introductory paragraph; “invites” the reader to continue reading. X
  3. The style is direct univocal.

X

  1. The general topic (field of study) is presented initially to then move on to the problem of research. X
  2. The research problem is identified and define correctly. X
  3. The background of the problem is presented without delay. X
  4. The main reason why the selected problem is clear. Your research is warranted to fill an information gap. X
  1. The relationship of the study problem with previous research is direct and clear. X
  2. The literature review presents a range of experiences, theories, opinions with points of view diverse and complementary on the problem. (^) X
  3. The literature review of the introduction identifies, from the literature, important gaps in information about the problem. X
  4. The organization of the literature review introductory is logical, according to categories and date of publication. X
  5. The literature review is much more than a mere ordered list of citations: each reference has a justification, its place is decisive and, in no case, it is arbitrary. X
  6. The research is not isolated and is linked to existing theories. X
  1. The research describes a theoretical framework already existingor formulate your own. X
  2. The depoveled theorical in a logical framework is X
  3. The theoretical framework is useful to clarify concepts relevant and relationships between them and with the topic studied. X
  4. The study selects the predictor variables and adequate results. X
  5. The predictor and outcome variables are considered clearly, precisely and unambiguously. X
  6. The association between the chosen variables is escribed indicating its quality as a predictor (independent) and result (dependent). X GUIDELINES FOR EVALUATING THE INTRODUCTION

PUNCTUATION

YES DOUBTFUL NO

  1. Extraneous (confounding) variables are recognized and their degree of control in the study is indicated.

X

  1. The formulation of the hypotheses includes the study variables, the study population, and the predicted outcome (effect).

X

  1. The predictor and outcome variables identified in the hypotheses of the study are operationally defined.
