LUXEMBURGO
Luxemburgo is a small country which is located in northwest Europe. Is placed between
France, Germany and Belgium. It,s one of the twenty-seven state that make European Union.
Luxembourg has a population of 636,000 over an area of 2586 square
kilometers. It has diverse cultures and traditions. The country owns three official
languages: Luxembourgish, French and German. Our economy is highly
develoved.
The government of Luxembourg is the only sovereign grand duchy today.

Geografía
Luxembourg is dominated by gently rounded, wide hills and shallow valleys. It is slightly
mountainous in the north and descends towards the plains of the Moselle River to the southeast.
This country is made up of two regions: the Oesling to the north and Gutland to the south.
To the north of the city extends Oesling which contains approximately the northern third of the
territory, has an area of 828 km² with an average height of 450-500 meters above sea level. This set
of highlands corresponds to the plateau of the Ardennes. Its relief is rugged, higher than the rest of
the country and is covered by coniferous forests, through which passes the tributaries of the
Moselle.
Gutland in the south and center of the country, extends for 1,758 km². It continues through the
region of Lorraine which are deeply carved by rivers that form narrow valleys that descend from
southwest to northeast. It is the land of more fertile soils, milder climate, and subsoils rich in
minerals such as iron and coal.
The lowest point in the country is located on the Moselle River in Wasserbillig

In Luxembourg is the oceanic climate modified with mild winters and temperate summers. The
average annual temperature in the capital Luxembourg is 9 °C. The climate is more rigorous in
the northern highlands (Eisléck), and more moderate in the south (Guttland)
