Dear students, I warmly welcome you to the English III course in the virtual mode.
I am Carol Farje I’m an English teacher and I will be presen�ng some of videos of this course.
The teachers Gina Buitriago, Amalia Tipiani, Trixie Vidal, Noelia Fuentes and Diana Alejo have
created this virtual course, which means that they designed all the materials, tasks and ac�vi�es.
We consider important that you are able to communicate in this language, since it is a necessity
in today's world. Therefore, learning this language will be an essen�al tool for you to understand
and produce orally and in wri�ng; thus managing to communicate effec�vely in English.
At the end of this course, you will be able to produce informa�on in familiar contexts and
expressing everyday ac�ons in present and past at an A2 level of the Common European
Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Take advantage of the course materials to deepen your knowledge of the language and expand
your horizons. If you keep prac�cing, you will see the benefits it will bring in your future work
and academic environments.
Review the schedule of ac�vi�es that appears on the pla�orm, so that you can organize yourself
and make the most of your learning.
In each of the virtual sessions you must complete the requested ac�vi�es in order to achieve
good results. On the pla�orm, you will find two types of ac�vi�es:
Pre-Task: graded and ungraded ac�vi�es that will help you learn and prac�ce vocabulary
and grammar each week. These ac�vi�es will be corrected automa�cally.
Task: weekly graded and ungraded assignments that will help you apply your learning
each week. These assignments will be corrected by your teacher, who will give you
feedback as soon as possible.
Tip: On the pla�orm, you can recognize graded ac�vi�es because they will have the le�ers "AC"
before their name, for example: (AC-S02) Semana 02 - Task: Tarea - My family.
In addi�on, each week, you will have the opportunity to par�cipate in a synchronous
conversa�on Taller, which will help you to prac�ce and prepare for your weekly Task. We will
offer you different schedule op�ons and you can sign up for the one that suits you the best.
A�endance to the Taller is op�onal, but highly recommended.
If you have ques�ons or doubts, your teacher will solve them through the Foro de Consultas,
Canvas inbox or email. We will be guiding you on this learning path.
