extension/denotation or connotation. Justify your answer.
1. A democracy is a form of government in which the supreme power is

  3. Provide your own examples of the following metonymic pattern: CONTAINER FOR CONTENT. “Smoke a pipe”. You cannot smoke the pipe, you smoke the content of the pipe. “Eat two bowls”. You eat the content of the bowls, but not the bowls. “Drink a cup of tea”. I drink the tea that is conteined by the cup, but I do not drink the cup.
  4. Explain briefly the conceptual metaphor theory with the following example: Exercise, nature and my pet help to lift my spirits when I’m feeling down. The metaphor associated with down, and the antonomy, up, are associated with health and power. In this sentence, down means sad. It also is associated with religion. Heaven is above us, and all of us want to go to the heaven, so the good moments and feeling are associated with up, heaven, God, and its antonomy, down, with all the bad feelings, because we have the inferno below us, and no one of us want to go to the Inferno.
