1. In the following sentences, make suggestions according to the situations given.
Use the causative of the verbs in brackets.
1. This watch has stopped. It's broken. (fix)
You should have this watch fixed.
2. We have got so many books and nowhere to put them. (build new shelves)
You should have new shelves built.
3. I can't carry this heavy shopping bag on my own. (deliver)
You can have this heavy shopping bag delivered.
4. The floor looks dirty and dull. (polish)
Perhaps you could have the floor polished.
5. Sarah's poems are very good. People would love them. (publish)
She could have her poems published.
6. John doesn't like the tiles on the kitchen floor. He would like a different colour. (change)
He should have his tiles on the kitchen floor changed.
2. Fill in the blanks with the correct form of have... or get ... to and a suitable agent
(person who does the action) according to the context. Sometimes, more than one
correct answer is possible.
