Verbs followed by the -ING form or the infinitive

Let's separate verbs into two groups

WANT

Verb + -ING ( like dancing )

Verb + the infinitive ( need to go )

want to do? or want doing?

Look at these sentences and decide what the difference between them is.

1A. I always remember to turn off the electric water

heater after I have a shower.

1B. I vividly remember being to Machu Picchu for the

first time.

2A. I sometimes forget to call my friends on their

birthdays and they get upset with me.

2B. I have forgotten changing my password, I don´t

know when it happened.
