A great number of people share the view that studying a second language could be important not
only to enrich our general culture, but also to find imployment. There are many reasons for
studying a foreign language and in my essay I will discuss two of them.
First of all, I think that learning another language could be relevant in your career. In fact, more
companies nowaday require the knowledge of a second language, such as French, Dutch, English
or Chinese, because they are business language, therefore necessary for those seeking top-level
jobs.
Secondly, important international companies need to fill vacancies, so new recruits should be
prepared to take this positions. Most of te time, the old employers, in this companies, speack at
least two foreign language.
Nevertheless, learning a second language can also be an enjoyable activity. For example, in order
to travel, a person does not have to learn all the particulars of a language, but only few phrases
which can help this traveller to communicate in a different language when in other country than
their own. In addition, there are schools which offer short cources in a variety of languages that
are interesting and practical.
Of the two reasons discussed above, I think that learning a secondo language for employment is
more important than jus memorising few phrases to travel. Therefore, this new skill should be
learnt well and with proper instructions since it is essencial to a person’s education these days.
