AOL and Juno Installs
Juno is an ISP that provides Web access and enhanced Email services,
particularly geared at rst time Internet users. When installing these
applications they provide a list of "supported" modems and you need
to select one from the list. The SM56 is not listed. Instead, select
Motorola Premier from the list that their install wizard provides. This
selection enables the SM56 to work correctly at full K56Flex and V.90
rates.

Known Bugs and Incompatibilities

Windows NT 4.0 DOS box operation is not supported.

  3. Changed all PASCAL and OPTCALL to STDCALL calling conventions.

  1. Fixed a problem found when using the HyperTerminal application.

  1. SM56 modem would not install if another modem was already installed in the PC. This is now fixed.

  1. Fixed a bug that could cause an operating system crash during K56Flex training.

  2. Fixed problem where the modem would not correctly switch to tone dialing when "D" was encountered in the dial string. This bug was introduced in the previous build.

  3. Previous builds had very low throoughput in all data modes (V.90, K56Flex, V.34, etc.). This is now fixed.

  1. The CPU usage option has been removed from the applet. This feature/option is o longer used by the SM56. (#414).

  2. Call Progress monitoring has been added. You can now hear dialtone, DTMF dialing, connection negotiation, etc. on an external speaker or local speaker on the modem board. (#415)

  3. The install INF file has been updated to report the correct build number. (#416)

  4. Because it was not functioning correctly, the Applet Modem status display has been removed. It no longer reports the real-time modem status -- dialing, negotiating, data mode connect rate, etc. This feature will be added back in a later build. (#263).

  5. A fix has been implemented to allow the modem to operate correctly with the Intel NIC card (#383).?????
