Learning Outcomes and Assessment Criteria (Assignment 1): Learning Outcome Pass Merit Distinction LO 3 P5 Provide a logical/physical design of the networked system with clear explanation and addressing table. P6 Evaluate the design to meet the requirements. M3 Install and configure network services and applications on your choice. D2 Design a maintenance schedule to support the networked system. LO 4 P7 Implement a networked system based on a prepared design. P8 Document and analyse test results against expected results. M4 Recommend potential enhancements for the networked systems. D3 Use critical reflection to evaluate own work and justify valid conclusions.

A logical design is a conceptual, abstract design. You do not deal with the physical implementation
details yet; you deal only with defining the types of information that you need.
The process of logical design involves arranging data into a series of logical relationships called
entities and attributes. An entity represents a chunk of information. In relational databases, an
entity often maps to a table. An attribute is a component of an entity and helps define the
uniqueness of the entity. In relational databases, an attribute maps to a column.
1.2 Physical design:
In integrated circuit design, physical design is a step in the standard design cycle which follows
after the circuit design. At this step, circuit representations of the components (devices and
interconnects) of the design are converted into geometric representations of shapes which,
when manufactured in the corresponding layers of materials, will ensure the required
functioning of the components. This geometric representation is called integrated circuit
layout. This step is usually split into several sub-steps, which include both design and
verification and validation of the layout.

1.3 The difference between logical and physical design:
The main difference between logical database design and physical database design is that logical
database design helps to define the data elements and their relationships, but physical database
design helps to design the actual database based on the requirements gathered during the logical
data design.
2. Requirement analysis from given scenario:
You are employed as a network engineer by Nguyen Networking Limited, a high-tech networking
solution development company, which has branches in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Da Nang and Can Tho.
The company has been contracted to implement a networking project from a local educational
institute. The specification of the project is given below:
- People: 200 students, 15 teachers, 12 marketing and administration staff, 5 higher managers
including the academic heads and the programme managers, and 3 computer network administrators.
- Resources: 50 student lab computers, 35 staff computers, and 3 printers.
- Building: 3 floors, all computers and printers are on the ground floor apart from the IT labs – one lab
located on the first floor and another located on the second floor.
3. Logical design of the network system:

GROUND is divided into 4 rooms, the first is the teacher's room, including 15 PCs and a printer. The second room is the management room including 5 PCs and a printer. The third room is the IT room including 3 PCs. The last room is the Server room including DNS, WEB, SMTP and FPT.

4.2.Explanation:
I chose Hyprid topology because:
This type of topology combines the benefits of different types of topologies in one topology.
Can be modified as per requirement.
It is extremely flexible.
It is very reliable.
It is easily scalable as Hybrid networks are built in a fashion which enables for easy integration
of new hardware components.
Error detecting and troubleshooting is easy.
Handles large volume of traffic.
It is used for creating large network
5. IP address table of the network devices:
