Executive Summary
This proposal is submitted as per request of Mr. Ahsan Malik for the course of Control Systems
(EEE 325). This is a that includes the Design and Operation of a multi function robot, capable of
spraying colors and fire extinguishing. This robot will be controlled by the user with the help
of joystick and its position and direction will be detected by the camera attached to it.
Introduction
This robot will be capable of doing the following tasks:
Spraying colors selected by the user.
Extinguishing fire.
It will be controlled by a joystick or keyboard, to move it in the desired direction. The user
will be able to determine and control the motion of robot by camera interfacing with PC. This
camera will be mounted on the robot.
The Components and Design Objectives
The major components of this machine are:
Lego Based Structure:
The external body of the robot will be build by lego blocks, and tires.
Spraying Setup:
This will be done by using a self made spray gun, water colors or any other paint.
Fire Extinguisher:
For fire extinguishing, we will use miniature fans operated by two AAA 1.5 V batteries.
Motion Control:
The motion of the robot will be controlled by two servo motors to move in X and Y
direction.
Interfacing with PC:
For interfacing we have come across some options e.g. PC based PID controller, or
VBscript.
