CONCLUSIONS
Molecular absorption spectroscopy is
an instrumental technique to
measure how much light, within the
UV-visible region of the
electromagnetic spectrum, is
absorbed by a substance.
OBJECTIVES:
A=-log(T)
Beer-Lambert Law
A=EbC
INTRODUCTION
-Prove Beer-Lambert's Law
-Identify uses of spectroscopy.
- Explain variables that influence
of the absorbance determination.
WHAT DO WE
NEED?
-5 equal packages.
-Flashlight.
-Smart phone.
-Coloring drink.
-Water.
-An object of measurement.
-A green filter.
-Fill containers
with equal amount
of water
-Measure light
intensity.
-Add colorful
drink, different
amounts.
-Measure light
intensity again.
RESULTS
TABLE 2
TABLE 1
TABLE 3
GRAPHICS
ANALYSIS OF RESULTS
With the results we can say:
-Transmittance is inversely
proportional to concentration.
-Absorbance is directly
proportional to concentration
-The graphs obtained show us
that the beer law was fulfilled.
-With the transmittance of the
samples, we can obtain the
concentration without problem.
LIMITATIONS
-A limitation is that it must be a place
where there is not much light.
-The wrong choice of filter color can
damage the results.
STRENGTHS
-It is an easy to understand method.
-Materials easy to get at home.
METHODS
- All concepts studied were verified.
-Spectroscopy is of great importance in
chemical analysis.
