REPORT ON FOREIGN LANGUAGE LEARNING IN MY COUNTRY
Introduction
The purpose of this report is to describe some of the languages people often learn in my
country, as well as who learns them, where they learn them and some recommendations
people should keep in mind in order to improve this learning.
Languages people learn
In my country, there are a lot of languages which are learned daily. English is the language
that is surely the most taught after our mother tongue due to the teaching of this international
language in a compulsory way. Apart from English, French is also learned but it is not
compulsory.
Who learns them and where they learn them
These languages are studied by numerous students, which can be school and highschool
students or adults who are interested in learning to speak and dominate a second language.
However, the difference between the learning of both of them is that English is learned at
every school and highschool of the country (even three-year- old children must learn it) while
French is only learned at high schools.
Recommendations for improving language learning in my country
Considering all of the above, I would like to recommend teaching other subjects in English,
such as science classes, mathematics or even artistic subjects. Learning English through
other subjects has a positive impact on language control.
