Future Progressive

Will + be + ing

Use

A hypothetical condition and its probable result

Type 3

If + past perfect + perfect conditional / perfect progressive conditional If + (had + ed/ 3rd column) + ( would + have + ed/3rd column / would + have + been + ing)

Use

An unreal past condition and its probable result in the past

Example

If I had accepted that promotion, I would have been working in Milan.

Mixed

If + past perfect / simple past + present conditional / perfect conditional) If + (had + ed/3rd column / infinitive + ed/2nd column) + (would + infinitive / would + have + ed/3rd column)

Use

An unreal past condition and its proable result in the present.

Have/has + ed/3rd colmun → Had +ed/3rd column 'I have been to Spain', he told me He told me that he had been to Spain

Past Perfect → Past Perfect

Had + ed/3rd column → Had + ed/3rdcolumn 'I had turned out the light', he explained He explained that he had turned out the light.

Present Perfect Progressive → Past Perfect Progressive
