Our country is home to many remarkable people, tw o of whom are very well
known. The first is Mario Vargas Llosa, a world-famous author who was
awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2010. His works, which are known
for their social commentary, have been translated into dozens of languages.
He is a writer that has had a major impact on Latin American literature.
Another figure we should all be proud of is Gastón Acurio, a chef who has
revolutionized Peruvian cuisine on a global scale. He is the mastermind
behind numerous restaurants, one of which is called Astrid & Gastón, a
restaurant famous for its innovative dishes. Gastón Acurio is a cultural
ambassador that has shown the world the incredible flavors of Per u.
Understanding Relative Clauses
A relative clause is a part of a sentence that gives us more information about a
noun. Remember these are sentences that give us more information about a
person or thing. We use words like “who”,” which” and “that”.
