Today I’m going to talk about my experience on a trip I had. Before the pandemic, I
had a family trip to Brazil. This trip was for my mom’s birthday. On that trip, we
went on a tour around Rio de Janeiro beaches and islands. That day started when
my family and I needed to wake up early because the tour was starting at 8 o’clock.
Before we go to eat breakfast, we pack important things in our backpacks. Then we
went to the hotel lobby and there we met the tour guide, he smiled friendly at us.
His name is Roberto. He started the tour by going to the "Sambodromo da Marquês
de Sapucai", which is where "The parade of Carnaval do Rio" takes place. He told us
that "Carnaval do Rio" is a famous festival that Brazilians celebrate 40 days before
Easter. Usually, Brazilians celebrate it by watching the parade or participating in
this. Other people throw a party, in this party, people dance the samba and drink a
lot of beer. Also, other kinds of people prefer to relax at the beach. The unique
purpose of “Carnaval do Rio” is to have a good time.
Before that, we when to the beach to take the yacht. On the way to the island
“Ilhan Grande,” Rafael was talking about the myth “Las dos islas”. The myth is
about two islands one of these (El dorado de la isla guayana) never was drawn, but
there are letters that natives wrote talking about the island. people said when they
pass near the Place where the island has to be, they hear echoes like voices and
rarest sounds. And the other one (La isla de brasil) the myth says one day a ship
with sailors passed near the island, but the sailors never come to their destination.
People say that this happened because a large strange animal ate them.
Later when we arrived at “Ilhan Grande” we were swimming, I was seeing the
wonderful view and we were taking photos. Before going out to “Ilhan Grande”, we
ate lunch quickly.
On the way back to Rio, Roberto was talking about his job, the pro, and the cons.
Some pros that I remember that he said are: Being a tour guide makes you try to be
flexible and punctual. You practice your second or third language. You learn new
things all day, etc. And the cons are: If you want to have a good salary, you need a
second job. It’s a demanding job.
When we arrived in Rio, we said goodbye sadly to Roberto. He was a good tour
guide.
Minutes later my mom said “I want to return to Rio to the “Carnaval do Rio” and I
and my family said an obvious “So do we”.
So, if you ask yourself “How long have you and your family wanted to return to
Brazil?” The answer is: We have wanted to return to Brazil since February 2019. We
only want to go to Brazil and live the best experience again.
