DIALOGUE
---------------------TO THE INTERVIEW---------------------
PATIENT : Is plastic surgery popular?
DR : Yes. Actually people are so interested in plastic surgery right now.
PATIENT : What do you think about people having plastic surgery?
DR : As long as they find happiness in what they’re doing, it’s fine with me.
PATIENT : Why do you think people do it?
DR : They want to gain a better look, I believe. That’s understandable. So I am here to make
that dream possible.
PATIENT : Is plastic surgery bad?
DR : It’s bad for health in the long run, also if you go to an inexperienced place. Believe me,
you are in good hands.
PATIENT : Does it do harm to your health?
DR : Sure, there are several unhealthy substances in the medical treatments which may be
harmful to your body if you don’t have care.
PATIENT : Do you think changing your look is a good thing?
DR : Yes, I can’t deny that changing for a better appearance is what people should do. But
don’t abuse plastic surgery or you will face serious health problems later on.
PATIENT : Do you think the development of plastic surgery is a positive or negative trend?
DR : It’s more a positive trend, I guess. Thanks to plastic surgery, people who think they
don’t look good can now make themselves more attractive.
PATIENT : Do you care more about your outlook or inner soul?
DR : For me, the inner soul does matter more although outside appearance is important, too.
PATIENT: Thank You Doctor, for your honesty. Now I feel more comfortable. Let's do this.
DR: No problem. Let 's go ahead.
---------------------THE DAY OF THE SURGERY------------------
Nurse: Good morning, Miss Garcia, today you will have the Rhinoplasty that is scheduled for
3.00 p.m.
DR: The procedure is very simple, as I had already explained, it usually takes one to two
hours, depending on the complexity of each intervention. It requires hospital admission and
you will be in an operating room, under local anesthesia and sedation or general anesthesia.
PATIENT: Doctor, what type of anesthesia are you going to use?
DR: In this case we will use general anesthesia. You have to be calm and everything will be
fine.
PATIENT: Doctor can you explain to me what are the most common side effects of
rhinoplasty?
DR : The nurse will guide you a little more about the complications
Nurse: Although it is not frequent, any type of surgery can bring complications such as
infection, allergic reaction to medications, but we hope you won’t have any of them. Do you
have any other questions?
PATIENT: Yes, after the surgery will I feel a lot of pain?
Nurse: You will feel pain, but we will give you analgesics to alleviate them.
PATIENT: Thank you, all clear.
Nurse: Very well, follow me for the preparation and you will put on your gown. I will take you
for the procedure.
