Proposal for a college council
I am writing this proposal to the school principal in order to raise the idea of setting up
a student’s council to change the way some things are done in the school and to plan
events for students.
Purpose of the council
We think that student council could be an opportunity for the students to be more
involved on the planning of events that contribute to school and participate in the
school activities. Also, is a way for students to represent their feelings, opinions, and
interests, this will help them to develop potential leaders through other organizations.
How the council leaders will be elected
We suggest that the council is made up of two representatives for each year group,
one of each class, they could be selected by the other students of the class. The
representatives of each year could be reunited once a week to talk about the news in
the school. Then the two representatives of the last two courses could meet with the
teachers every two weeks.
Benefits of the council
From our point of view the council would be a benefit for both parts, teachers and
students. Teachers would know what are the things that they can improve to grab the
attentions of the students and creative ideas for new activities. By students, they
would feel listened and motivated for school projects.
Summary
To sum up, we are convinced that this council would be a great benefit for the school
and all the students, would create a more familiar environment and would solve some
issues.
