CAPSTONE QUARTER 3 MELC 1 & 2, Exercises of Family and Consumer Science

This document contains answers that you may relate to yourself and portrays what is in my chaotic mind. I barely remember what I wrote but I assure you the answers are quite relatable for something that is asked from the modules. Apple bottom jeans boots with the fur got the whole room looking at her she got it low she got it low Shawty got low low low low low low low

Guide Questions:
1. What is the problem or topic you have identified from the concept map?
From the concept map I have identified that the problem id about having a weak immune
system.
2. What is the proposed solution to the problem or deign or specimen to be investigated?
The proposed solution to the problem is to eat food rich in antioxidants and to identify locally
grown vegetables rich in Vitamin C as natural sources of antioxidant.
3. What scientific concepts did the proposed study anchor?
The proposed study anchored scientific concepts such as reduction and oxidation or redox
reaction.
4. What variables (Independent, dependent, and controlled) are involved in the study?
The independent variable involved in the study is the locally grown vegetables, dependent
variable included is the vitamin C content, and the controlled variables involved are the amount of
vegetables analyzed, iodine titration, and Vitamin C tablets.
5. Based from the given independent variable and dependent variable, what is the title of the proposed
study?
The possible title of the proposed study could be “Determination of Vitamin C in Locally Grown
Vegetables Using Iodine Titration to Strengthen Weak Immune System.”
6. What scientific questions can be formulated based from independent and dependent variables
involved in the study?
Possible scientific questions that can be formulated in the study are: “What is the amount of
Vitamin C content in locally grown vegetables?” and “Are substantial differences seen in the Vitamin C
content of locally grown vegetables and generally grown vegetables?”
7. Is the proposed study BASIC or APPLIED? Explain briefly?
The proposed study is considered as Basic Research as it seeks to expand knowledge in the field
of study.
8. What safety measures are to be considered in doing this study?
The safety measures that are to be considered in doing this study include the proper use of
protective gloves, masks, laboratory gowns, and ensuring caution in using glass wares.

Feasibility of Cigarette Filters in Plastic Pot Production through Dissolution  Problem: Cigarette wastes are one of the most common forms of plastic litter in the world  Proposed solution: Plastic Pot Production through Dissolution  Scientific concepts: dissolution of cigarette filters through acetylation  Independent variable: cigarette waste Dependent variable: size and durability of plastic pots Controlled variables: duration of dissolution process, amount of acetone used in the solution  Scientific questions: o What is the effect of the varying volume of acetone on the durability of plastic pots? o Is there a significant difference with the use of varying volumes of acetone in terms of durability? o What is the potential of cigarette filters as main component in making plastic- based pots?  The proposed study is considered as Applied Research as it creates a practical solution for a specific problem.  The proposed study was propositioned to lessen the cigarette wastes that are present in the study area. Yes, several ethical and safety considerations will be considered in this study. Such considerations include the use of proper PPE including gloves, masks, laboratory gowns, and goggles during the dissolution process; precautionary measures including the presence of fire extinguishers as acetone is highly flammable; and observing caution in using glass equipment. Reflection: Do you think that the problem you presented has the characteristics of a good research problem? Why? Yes, I think so indeed. It is not the best but I have understood the goals of this study and it is to decrease the cigarette waste that linger and is abundant in our study grounds. It focuses on easing the particular cigarette wastes that takes a century to decompose and improves our way of living by giving a safe space for our plants.
