A. INTRODUCTION

The writer have been asked to assist his training and development manager with the planning and execution of a professional development event aimed at internal employees in the organization the writer work for. The report will give the necessary information, plans and schedules for each day.

B. DEMONSTRATE, USING DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION STYLES

AND FORMAT, THAT YOU CAN EFFECTIVELY DESIGN AND

DELIVER A TRANING EVENT FOR A GIVEN TARGET AUDIENCE

(P1)

I. Definition and the importance of communication skill

Communication skills are the abilities you use when giving and receiving different kinds of information. Some examples include communicating new ideas, feelings or even an update on your project. Communication skills involve listening, speaking, observing and empathising. It is also helpful to understand the differences in how to communicate through face-to-face interactions, phone conversations and digital communications like email and social media. (Team, 2021) The ability to communicate effectively with clients, colleagues and managers is essential, whatever sector you work in. Good communication improves teams, inspires high performance and enhances the workplace culture. Just remember, communication is a two-way process, so take notice of other people's verbal and nonverbal signals as well as your own. (BEQIRI, 2017) Benefits of group communication

  • Group communication has many benefits in the workplace, including:
  • Providing a way for group members to generate ideas and solutions to achieve their common goal.
  • Encouraging members to make decisions as a group.
  • Creating a way for the team to build rapport with one another.
  • Establishing mutual respect and understanding among group members.
  • To ensure clarity and transparency about goals and expectations. (Team, 2021)

II. Verbal communication

Verbal communication refers to the utilization of words to express ourselves in front of other people. Thus it is an inclusion of both spoken and written communication. Although most people prefer verbal communication to describe only spoken communication. The verbal part of communication refers to the words that we choose, and how they are heard and interpreted. (Agrawal, 2020)

  • Planning (Keiling, 2021) Time management skills are important because they help you structure your work in a way that allows you to accomplish goals. For example, if your goal is to get a job, you need time to update your resume, search for openings, apply, research companies and prepare for interviews. Setting aside specific amounts of time per day will help you complete the necessary steps to getting a job. (Keiling, 2021) Being fully present and focused results from strong time management skills. For example, if you are running late to a meeting and must work on a project you forgot was due while people are speaking, you might miss important information that could help you be better at your job. (Keiling, 2021)

D. DEMONSTRATE THE USE OF DIFFERENT PROBLEM SOLVING

TECHNIQUES IN THE DESIGN AND DELIVERY OF AN EVENT (P3)

I. Definition and the importance of problem solving

Problem-solving skills help you determine the source of a problem and find an effective solution. Although problem solving is often identified as its own separate skill, there are other related skills that contribute to this ability. (Team, 2020) Some key problem-solving skills include:

  • Active listening
  • Analysis
  • Research
  • Creativity (Team, 2020) Problem-solving skills are important in every career at every level. As a result, effective problem solving may also require industry or job-specific technical skills. For example, a registered nurse will need active listening and communication skills when interacti…32..ng with patients but will also need effective technical knowledge related to diseases and medications. In many cases, a nurse will need to know when to consult a doctor regarding a patient’s medical needs as part of the solution. (Team, 2020)

II. Some techniques and tools for the problem solving

Pareto Chart A Pareto chart is a histogram or bar chart combined with a line graph that groups the frequency or cost of different problems to show their relative significance. The bars show frequency in descending order, while the line shows cumulative percentage or total as you move from left to right. (Foster, 2018)

(Foster, 2018) 5 Whys The 5 Whys is a method that uses a series of questions to drill down into successive layers of a problem. The basic idea is that each time you ask why, the answer becomes the basis of the next why. It’s a simple tool useful for problems where you don’t need advanced statistics, so you don’t necessarily want to use it for complex problems. (Foster, 2018)

III. Problems and solutions in the training event

No Problems Solutions 1 Bad weather Move all programs indoors 2 Broken car Contact other vehicles for people to move 3 Someone is sick Use the prepared medicine and if the patient gets worse, take him to the hospital

E. DEMONSTRATE THAT CRITICAL REASONING HAS BEEN

APPLIED TO A GIVEN SOLUTION (P4)

I. Definition and the importance of critical reasoning/school of reasoning

(induction/deduction)

Critical reasoning is all about identifying, analysing and solving problems systematically. Some of the important chapters of critical reasoning are statement and argument, statement and assumption, statement and conclusion, statement and course of action, cause and effects and so on. (Chakraborty, 2020) In deductive reasoning there is a first premise, then a second premise and finally an inference (a conclusion based on reasoning and evidence). A common form of deductive reasoning is the syllogism, in which two statements — a major premise and a minor premise — together reach a logical conclusion. For example, the major premise "Every A is B" could be followed by the minor premise, "This C is A." Those statements would lead to the conclusion "This C is B." Syllogisms are considered a good way to test deductive reasoning to make sure the argument is valid. (Alina & Mindy, 2021) While deductive reasoning begins with a premise that is proven through observations, inductive reasoning extracts a likely (but not certain) premise from specific and limited observations. There is data, and then conclusions are drawn from the data; this is called inductive logic. (Alina & Mindy, 2021)

The importance of critical reasoning:

  1. Decision-making improves Applying critical thinking helps you make decisions that require a lot of thought. Big, life-changing decisions, like whether or not to make a career move, are aided by critical thinking, which encourages you to research and favor objective logic over your initial emotional response. (Team, 2021)
  2. Critical thinkers are happier Critical thinking helps people better understand themselves, their motivations and goals. When you can deduce information to find the most important parts and apply those to your life, you can change your situation and promote personal growth and overall happiness. (Team, 2021)
  3. It encourages self-reflection Critical thinkers have the inherent ability to see challenges from several perspectives. By deflecting the reaction to defend their personal beliefs, critical thinkers are more self-reflective and can change their minds and opinions in light of new information. (Team, 2021)

II. Apply to a given solution

No Problems Analysis Evaluation Solutions 1 Traffic jam It's raining so it makes it difficult for vehicles to move Some people are sad because they can't get there on time, leaders worry because things don't go according to plan People move to another car to go another way 2 Someone has covid- 19 Company employees have been in contact with f0 and have sat with some people in the car People are worried and scared. Someone wants to cancel the program Transport suspected infected people to test for covid-19, if they are infected, they will be sent home and everyone else will continue the program
