Acid has three basic definitions,
  • (i) Arrhenius acid: A substance with ability to increase concentration of hydrogen ions in solution
  • (ii)Brønsted-Lowry acid: A substance with ability to donate hydrogen ion
  • (iii) Lewis acid: A substance with ability to accept pair of electrons.
