How can static electricity be blocked?

What can prevent it from coming in contact with the human body? Currently, items that contain carbon will expel static that's already within someone's body, but it won't protect the person from absorbing any future static charge buildups.

It’s not just a matter of one question, this topic often gets me by surprise, besides the fact that I am much more interested in this subject than any other. Much appreciated by your concerns. 

Bug I.D. please; it is getting out of control?

These are pests on sunflowers and I think I have seen them biting tomato fruit as well. I think it is a kind of stink bug, but it is larger and longer bodied than typical stink bugs. It smells awful when I squash them. They are a grey or grey brown color, very hard and rather bumpy looking. Maybe up to a half inch long. They bite into the sunflower stems and cause the stem part just beneath the flower to wilt. They are very common here in my Florida garden. They are easy to catch, but squashing them, like I said is really a smelly experience.Thank you.
