Work + Unit Vectors + Dot Product

(Each direction is a vector) Let "$\hat{N}$"represent the direction horizontally north, "$\hat{NE}$"represent northeast (halfway between north and east), "$\hat{UP}$"represent vertically upward, and so on. Each direction specification can be thought of as a unit vector. Rank from the largest to the smallest the following dot products. Note that zero is larger than a negative number. If two quantities are equal, display that fact in your ranking. a) N*N = N*UP > N*NE = UP*DOWN > N*E > N*S > E*E = SE*S b) N*N = E*E > N*NE = SE*S > N*E = N*UP > N*S = UP*DOWN c) N*N > E*E = N*NE > SE*S = N*E > N*UP > N*S = UP*DOWN d) N*N = E*E > N*NE = SE*S > N*S = UP*DOWN > N*E = N*UP e) N*N = N*UP > N*NE > UP*DOWN > N*E > N*SE > E*E = SE*S

Work + Force Acted on Spring

The figure shows a light extended spring exerting a force _F_s to the left on a block. https://www.webassign.net/serpse8/7-oq-010.gif A rectangular block is placed on a horizontal surface and connected to a spring that is attached horizontally to a wall on the left. The horizontal spring is stretched from the wall such that the rectangular block is moved outward to the right by a distance of x from its initial rest position of x = 0. A force vector Fs points from above the block to the left, toward the wall. (i) Does the block exert a force on the spring? Select all that apply. No, it does not.Yes, to the left. Its magnitude is equal to Fs.Yes, to the right. Its magnitude is smaller than Fs.Its magnitude is larger than Fs. (ii) Does the spring exert a force on the wall? Select all that apply. No, it does not.Yes, to the right. Its magnitude is equal to Fs.Its magnitude is larger than Fs.Its magnitude is smaller than Fs.Yes, to the left.

A screw jack whose pitch is 2mm is used to raise a motor car of mass 900kg through a height of 20.0cm. The length of the tommy bar of the jack is 40cm. If the jack is 60% efficient, calculate the Velocity ratio, Mechanical Advantage of the jack, Effort required, and the work done by the effort. (Take g =10m/s2)

giving the block a speed of 3.0m/s, then the maximum speed of the block is:

A 0.25-kg block oscillates on the end of the spring with a spring constant of 200N/m. If the oscillation is started by elongating the spring 0.15m and giving the block a speed of 3.0m/s, then the maximum speed of the block is: A. 0.13m/s B. 0.18m/s C. 3.7m/s D. 5.2m/s E. 13m/s
