"The organization of the classification scheme is described with the help of terminology borrowed from Biology: vulnerability categories are referred to as phyla, while collections of vulnerability categories that share the same theme are referred to as kingdoms. Vulnerability phyla are classified into ""seven plus one"" pernicious kingdoms presented in the order of importance to software security: Input Validation and Representation API Abuse Security Features Time and State Errors Code Quality Encapsulation "

The purpose of this chapter is to explain the process of radioactive decay and its relationship to the concept of half-life. The primary intent is to demonstrate how the half-life of a radionuclide can be used in practical ways to "fingerprint" radioactive materials, to "date" organic materials, to estimate the age of the earth, and to optimize the medical benefits of radionuclide usage.

"•In general, High energy means less half-life due to higher probability of barrier penetration: •Beyond 6.5 MeV T1/2 = few days •Low energy means long half life •Below 4 MeV; T1/2 = very large A very common alpha emitter is Am-241. Sources are Prepared in thin slice form to avoid energy loss. Source: http://in.docsity.com/en-docs/Sources_of_Heavy_Charged_Particles-Radiation_Iteraction-Lecture_Slides_"
