Net Force Question? Help Please?

"What is the net force of 3.0N and 10 N acting on an object if the two forces are in the opposite directions? How do I get the answer to this? I am doing an online class and struggling so can someone please help me with the equation and the answer? I need the answer so I know if I am doing it right and then I can maybe figure out the rest of the problems. Thanks!"
